On Monday morning we walked into a local health clinic to get the immunizations and medical forms my exchange student needs for school enrollment. Five hours later, they called our number 77, reviewed her health records, and said: "She needs a chicken pox vaccination, but we are out of that today. You'll have to come back another day."
There you have it. A look at what Obama has in store for us if we allow him to supplant private health care with government-run health care.
I have many friends from socialist Europe, and what they always tell me is how many months they have to wait just to get needed diagnostic tests to find out if they have cancer and such. They could be half dead by the time their problems are even diagnosed. You see, a local clinic might make you wait a few hours or days, but a national clinic might make you wait weeks or months to get what you need.
Want another glimpse of government health care? Take a look at the veterans hospitals and treatment centers. Thank God we have them -- there is a place for both state health clinics and veterans care -- but they are not the models we want for the rest of the health industry. Just ask a veteran. Google it. Dogpile it. There is always at least one news story out there about how the veterans are being failed and mistreated by their government-run health programs.
Obama is aggressively (and arguably illegally) promoting his plans, asking that people report to the White House anyone who speaks out against socialized medicine. Yes, the whole country is supposed to report to the White House anyone using their Constitutional freedom of speech to criticize Obama's ideas. So go ahead. Turn me in. I can hardly wait for Obama's goons to show up at my door and take me away to some secret labor camp to re-educate me.
In the meantime, I'm going to research what possible causes of action there are against the powers that be for using these Communist and dictator tactics. Surely there is a way to stop a president from basically spying on the entire population. Oh yeah, we didn't even stop him from running for office without proof of birth here, so he feels quite empowered at this moment. Like the laws and Constitution just don't apply to him.
Is anyone adding all this together? Let's see...government motors, government banks, government pay plans for executives, government health care, limitations on freedom of speech, limitations on the right to bear arms, manipulation of the census and votes, weakening of the military, trillions of dollars of debt...and we're only a few months into the first year of his reign. At this rate, won't be much left of our Constitutional rights -- or country -- by the end of four years. God help us.
